Walmart Workplace Discipline


Disciplining employees:
When absenteeism, poor performance, or rule violations arise, it is often best to resolve the issue with an informal conversation or coaching sessions.  Proper workplace discipline is something that Walmart has failed to do. When a repeat violation, or a violation of more serious nature occurs it is best to follow a procedure of progressive discipline that proceeds from an oral warning, to a written warning, to a suspension or dismissal.  For this to be effective a manager needs to know; what the problem is, what he or she must do to fix the problem, have a time period to fix the problem, and understand the consequences of inaction.  Managers must be immediate in applying discipline.  He or she must inform employees of the consequences of undesirable work behavior.  And managers must be consistent and impersonal in imposing discipline to assure fairness.   This is the best way to go about workplace discipline for Walmart

  1. attendance policies might work if the employee was doing it on purpose this policy is being abused and misused, I was fired from store #85 because I missed work to go to a funeral of my 15year old niece who lived out of state I talked to my immediate supervisor I was told later on by a co-worker that the supervisor threw away my request so when I came back I no longer had a job,

    now on april 20 my son had a massive heart attack he was employed at the bowman Walmart he was sick 2 weeks prior to the heart attack doctor said that was the reason he was sick his arteries were blocked they put in a stent which blocked in 4 weeks after the procedure he started having chest pains again we were back at the hospital he was transferred from a local hospital to the heart hospital in little rock where they did open heart surgery he had a triple bypass doctor said he could not go back to work for the next 6-8 weeks when he went to check on his status he had been fired im shocked that you allow people to treat your employees in such a horrible way I guess our next step is contacting the local TV station

  2. because you fired my son when he was under a doctors care he's not able to pay rent or buy food for his family and since he is still under a doctors care he cant get another job, so because of your mismanagement of your company and firing people under a doctors care which is illegal and immoral they will lose their home but you don't care, and that's why you have such a large turnover because when Sam died so did his dream to provide a store where low income families could come in and shop and save money, now greed has shown its ugly face

  3. I am an employee at store#1978 in plymouth Indiana. The caps team I work with gets threatened of coaching for everything and not only that but are co-manager likes to tell the other employees that they are useless and lazy but they are the best workers to work with

  5. Hi I hope someone in corporate read this but I have been harass in my store from employees. I work in 1980 I have a disease which is a disability. but my main concern is my hours they are cut in half I cannot do this so someone from corporate can you help me

  7. hi I work in 1980 this is harassment. Only 12 hours this is discrimination against me because I have a diease trimethylaminuria this diease has no cure and it is a disability
    so I feel discriminate because I have a diease that is so dum
