Walmart Illegal termination


Walmart has been involved in legal battles in illegal termination. Terminating employees is a difficult task that a manager has to deal with.  Inequality or procedural injustice to those who are terminated is often what drives them to court.  It is recommended that manager's provide discipline in the form of written warnings and final warnings, as this type of documentation helps in court.  Documented warnings need to include what led up to the incident, the problem, and the setting, and whether it’s a first offense or not.  It should include specifically what happened - including names, times, witnesses and all other related facts.  The warnings need also describe what must be done to correct the situation, and a time frame to do so, and should state the consequences of further violations.

  1. It was alleged that I left a money bag with $3200 on the counter in sporting goods and the only thing I saw was me leaning over with the key to open the cash drawer. The problem with this claim store 0249 is a high shrink store and for the bag to be left on the counter all night is unheard of. The incident supposedly happen on 02/26/2014 and I was fired on 03/18/14 after I worked the whole shift and was fired at 5pm 30 minuets before I was schedule to get off. They took me off the schedule during 03/09/14 thru 03/15/14. They had plenty time to manipulate a video or picture. I have a witness that saw me put bag 78 in the wagon safe. I never left anything out of three years as a CSS. I was paid only half of the time as a CSS but was doing the job duties. There is no communication or support at store 00249

  2. Have been with Walmart for 13 years, Nov 2001 to May 2014. Moved to Nevada 2013 and that was screwed up. Finally found a position 50 MILES away from where I live. Had to work so I took the position (customer service) found out a Neighborhood Market closer to home was looking for cashiers. The store I was at was very accommodating, suppose to be with store for 6 mos. before transferring and they let me transfer with less time. Neighborhood market was horrible! CSM's had no idea of what they were doing, no palm pilots, shouting private information across the store, have to leave register/customers to get change or any help, but, even though I lost .40 hr it was better than paying all that gas money. Was told I would be placed in Cust. Serv. (Smokeshop) after a short stint as cashier (never happened). 102 degrees in Las Vegas, scheduled to work 1 to 10. At 3:00 was suppose to be my break, asked CSM about it, she said she would take care of it, never did. At 20 of 4 I had no customers, told CSM I was feeling awful, needed to sit down and get some water then I would be fine. Went to Cust. Service to get car keys to get money from my purse for water and was told to do a code 10 so they would know what time I left, I replied "you got to be kidding, I am 40 minutes late for break but you want to make sure I am not 2 min. late coming back?" HR Mgr. over heard me and shouted in my face with open arms "We are doing this in front of customers really?" I went to my car, got sick in parking lot, got on phone called Store Mgr. after a minute or two I told my Store Mgr. I would call him back in an hour (during lunch at 5!) because he was driving. Went back in store, over heard two CSMs talking, She would go to break when I tell her to. Started feeling bad again, went back & punched out, on the way out I told CSM I was leaving. Was terminated the next day after my Mgr. had a conference call w/H.R. Had no exit interview, had no write ups, no nothing, my side of the story was never heard. Had hard time getting last paycheck (according to Nev. State law, terminated employees are suppose to get their last paycheck immediately). Told this to Connie from H.R. she replied Sounds like you have talked to a lawyer so this conversation is over, apparently she thinks Walmart Associates are too stupid to use a computer! As of June 5 have still not gotten paper copy of last paycheck which I need. YOU GO WALMART. Would go to a lawyer but by the time it got settled I would be buried and I am sure Walmart would not give the proceeds to my children. (I am 71 yrs. old)

I worked in the wireless center which I loved the job I am a very serious person so I take my job that way well one night on my shift one of the other employees call in and says she left her cell phone she purchased earlier before my shift being the person that I am i was like okay she said she was gonna come back out with her baby and pick up the phone so I was like n okay she went into this rant about other managers getting phones I guess without a contract so she was like they do it all the time so I was like oh okay girl come and get your phone if you purchased and so she did well all of a sudden they start and investigation and fired everyone who was getting the phones without a contract so they let me go saying that I was changing contracts I do not even know how to do that so can some one please help me with this

  5. Hi I used my discount card on the clock and was fired which at the other Walmart I worked to we could.They told me it was like stealing from the store now I can't work at any Walmarts
