Walmart Unfair Termination

Unfair Termination at Walmart
Majid Hamade was fired from a Massachusetts’s Wal-Mart after he flicked another employee on the forehead with his finger.  He did this after he claims he was bullied and tormented because of anti-foreigner sentiments by his co-workers.  Hamade stated that he was harassed and ridiculed every day by his co-workers.  At one point Hamade's co-workers threw a paint can and a cup of coffee at him.  Hamade was fired but his tormentors went unpunished, so Hamade took the case to court.

The employee voice system, disciplinary procedures, and termination procedure recommendations I have provided later in this report should be used to handle this type of issue fairly to avoid future Walmart employee complaints.

  1. I was fired today at store 0249 In Cleveland Texas. I have been working for Walmart three years. My final position was a CSS. I was the only black female on the front in until Karen came back off of leave. They claimed I left a register bag with $3200 inside in a secluded area and nothing was taken. That is totally not true. I did not leave anything . Sporting goods is an area that customers love and for me to leave a blue bag full of money is outrageous. The key thing is nothing was taken. Customers always come there looking for 22 bullets and if in fact I did leave the bag there it would have been long gone. Our store is the first in our region for thefts and it's not even plausible for me to do such a thing. They showed a picture with me bending over with my key in my hand. They did not show the picture where the bag was left , only that I was there at the time of the incident.. This store is prejudice also it took them a year and a half to promote me too CSS when I have been working the position for all that time. Store Manger Thomi another black female interviewed two more people to get me in the position finally. They wanted me to do the work and write me up but didn't want to pay me. I finally made CSS April of 2013 and had been doing the duties since 05/2011.

  3. I worked at Walmart for almost a year. I tripped over a box of Walmart bag that my CSM placed next to my register on a busy day, I did not file a report do to the fact that everyone would have lost their bonus. Funny 2 weeks later I was handed a certificate for a year services and excellance customer service, 2 hours later they fired me and had me arrested for price matching without an ad. Said it was stealing. The problem is one day you need the ads then the next you dont. They said it had been going on for 3 months, so why did they not just tell me to quit and write me up the first month instead of letting it get to the point it did? The AP guy that came to our store disliked me and much as i disliked him so I am quessing this was his way of winning and the Store Allowed it to happen.

  4. To whom it may concern,
I worked at you walmart in Kingman Arizona (2051) for 3 1/2 tears successful never had a write up ,or a coaching Nothing. I was fired illegally and Non rehire able. Two exit interviews were put out and were totally different excuses on why I was fired . I only signed one of them. The second one was never presented to me neither did I sign it . I would like this investigated and looked into. If I remember right it was in 2008 or 2007 cant remember. I tried reapplying and it won't let me . If I was such a bad employee then my did I get a associate of the month award several times . I think the manager Jason had it out for me he hated me always had rude comments to say. Please reply with a email .I would like to see this get some attention due to it was illegal I was told to write this by my lawyer to see if I am handle it by myself . I have both exit interviews still and he said I have a case of its not checked into appropriately. Thanks for your time .

  5. I was called in on an off day to get fired. My assistant manager fired me because she say I had 8 unexcuse absence and I know a couple of times I have had an excuse when I was absence. She told me I had 3 coaches that I wasn't aware of. On top of that I feel like it's unfair to pick and choose to work at customer service I have people that got there after me already working at customer service. Store 5043

  7. I was fired when I swiped my discount card to buy Advil on the way home from having a c section and signing my baby over for adoption that day. Card came up as invalid and that's how I discovered I was terminated. No one called me or even attempted to call me. No missed calls, no voice mail.

  8. I was fired last year from the Goodyear Walmart store for calling in due to a death in my family. I followed procedure, I also talked to my assistant manager and let her know when I would be returning back to to work and she said ok. Upon returning to work only being off for 4 days I was no longer in the system and could not clock in. I applied again this year for the Christmas season at a Walmart near my home in buckeye az only to be told that I was in the system as no call no show for 3 days by my former assistant manager, so they would not hire me. It is very unfair that I now cannot get a job through Walmart due to a lie being told by the assistant manager! Who can I talk to to get this out right lie removed from my back ground? It truly upsets me that the management of this Walmart can be so cold hearted towards there employees when they are going thru the loss of a loved one. I have always heard Walmart was a caring company that cared about there employees, my experience was much different then that.

  9. To whom it may concern,

My name is Anthony Lux and I am a retired Combat Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I have something to say about a certain WalMart store.

My wife called me about being labeled as a theft at Walmart store #3213. She called me on my cell phone a few times explaining to me that a WalMart manager and a loss prevention officer has her in custody and keeping her in a small room for theft.

I did not know what was going on, I was at work at the time. I called four times to the Wal mart Woodlands store to speak with someone that have any knowledge on what was going with my wife. I was put on hold for a long while or was disconnected a total of four times. Either way I thought this unkind act was very inappropriate and unprofessional on the person part on the telephone (PBX).

I called my wife on her cell phone now very concern on what was going on at that store and why the third degree. My wife is from the Philippines and when she gets upset it is hard to understand her. When she talked to me she was saying that she was being watched by and associate and reported her to the door greeter and accusing her of theft. I said, “What?!” She then explained the whole story, I told her to show that manager that we have over $5000.00 in our checking account, and that you just bought over $200.00 worth of groceries. My wife tried to explain but the manager said to her that she didn’t want to hear her side of the story and kept reminding my wife why she is being held.

By this time I was getting very annoyed because no one from the store would answer their phone let alone speak with me. So I called the Montgomery County non-emergency number and had them send a unit out to that Walmart store and if they did have, have that officer call me on my cell phone. A deputy sheriff did call me and explained that they did have my wife in holding and that she is being accused of theft of “Frozen chicken wings of $10.04”. I said, “What?! Are you kidding me!?! Then I explained to the deputy that we have much money and my wife has no reason to steal. This is an honest mistake that was made. In fact, I’ve seen and heard of customers doing the exact same thing and the Customer Service Manager would tell the customer to go back to the register and pay the difference. He concurred but has a job to perform. I understand so that deputy gave my wife a Citation for theft of $10.04!!!

Again, my wife was profiled and looked down on continuously. From time to time she would tell me that some managers told her to speak proper english. Haydee would come home upset and tell me what was said to her. I told her to report this but she would tell me if she did then the retaliation would start.

Bottom line; No one talked with me, No one answered there phones or messages that I have left on their recorders, No one responded to any of my emails.
So I’m going to make this as simple as i can.

    Sincerely,

    Anthony Lux
