Walmart Employee Complaints and Walmart lawsuits

Wal-Mart is the largest employer in the world, and accounts for 2 percent of the nation's gross national product.(Cappeli)  It is no surprise that it has continually been on the news mainly because of human resources issues, employee compaints, and lawsuits.  The following report highlights these issues and offers recommendations to alleviate the problems.

Company Profile:

Wal-Mart
The very first Wal-Mart store opened in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas.  It was founded by Sam Walton who had a passion for customer satisfaction and everyday low prices.  Wal-Mart is now the world's biggest retailer, and the world’s biggest employer - with over 2 million people.  It not only operates in the U.S, but 12 other foreign countries as well.  As of April 2009 the company had 7,928 retail units worldwide.  Wal-Mart reported over 401 billion dollars in sales in 2009 with a net income of 13.4 billion in 2009.

Associates at Wal-Mart are eligible for health coverage for as little as $8 per month.  Children of Wal-Mart associates are also eligible for health coverage.  More than 92 percent of Wal-Mart employees have health coverage, and all employees who have health coverage through Wal-Mart are also offered generic prescription drugs for as little as $4.

Wal-Mart employees are eligible for 10 percent of all regularly priced Wal-Mart general merchandise; 10 percent off fruits and vegetables; 10 percent off glasses and contacts at Wal-Mart's Vision Centers; and over 100 discounts at walmartbenefits.com

In 2008 Wal-Mart put $870 million into Profit Sharing and 401k accounts.  Wal-Mart also offers an Associate Stock Purchasing Program that allows associates to purchase stock without most brokerage fees, and Wal-Mart matches a portion of the purchase.

  12. I have been working at Walmart for about a year and a half. I have a medical condition just diagnosed that means putting eye drops in my eyes or I could lose the vision in my right eye. Unfortunately it has to be done at 4 pm every day and at home. I have worked hard for Walmart but apparently they don't care about their employees as much as they do $. My hours have been cut from 30 to 12 weekly. Good luck Walmart! I hope you go under

  13. Wal-Mart used to be a good company to work for but it seems to be getting worse. Managers and personnel mostly do as they please moving people around or giving hours and hiring whom they please mostly based on favoritism. The store manager is oblivious of how his store is run. All they care about is profit going into their pockets.

  14. I work at Walmart#1151 in Kansas City, KS. I was told by my co-manager on 1/25/2020, that after I got off my last 15 minute break, I could help with unloading the GM truck. So, I took my break. Went to help with the truck. My store manager came back, and asked me what I was doing. I told her. She told me "Those eggs need to be filled, and the milk filled." Now, there was 2 other dairy associates working that day. I got written up for being unproductive.

  15. I was out for three separate occasions for hospital stays. Each stay was for 3 days. I just got fired for excessive absenteeism. I had only been there for 5 months. There are others who have been absent more than I was. Walmart's point system sucks. It punishes you for getting sick. The kicker is they gave me my final check and I deposited it in my bank. Then they withdraw the amount from my account. So I didn't get paid for my final days.

  17. millions have taken the vaccine but 1000 people have died from it as it contains heavy metals and a protein which once in the body can never be gotten rid of and it can or will in time cause cancer diabetese etc. all in the agenda of depopulating the world by the new world order as to control! if you will notice bill gate and his family are not taking the vaccines so i wonder why eh?
